U.are.U Troubleshooting
Sometimes the online sensor just won't cooperate. Sometimes it's user error. We have compiled a list of things to try to get it working.
  • Have you installed the Security Certificate? If you're sensor reads 'Sensor Unavailable', 99% of the time it's the security certificate. It doesn't hurt if you already have it installed. Always try this first.
  • Another 'Sensor Unavailable' trick is:
    • Unplug the sensor.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Plug it back in when you've logged on to your PC.
  • Verify your username is spelled correctly. (TYPICALLY firstname.lastname)
  • Ensure the software from the CD is installed on the PC you're connecting the sensor. Current version is Digital Persona Online Client 3.1. If you have CDROM with U.are.U Online Client 2.0 or 3.0, please upgrade.
  • Double-check that the sensor is fully plugged into the USB port on the PC
  • If your software and security certificate are properly installed, but you can't seem to get a reading on your finger, view this page to make sure you're using the sensor correctly
  • If you hear a high pitched 'beep' after pushing your finger down, call us. We're broken!

If all else fails, check out our advanced troubleshooting located here.
