"They're very knowledgeable people, very trustworthy and you're dealing with a partner rather than a competitor. That's number one to me."
President, Farmers State Bank
Bank president John Carlander said it best: "For us, in talking to my CFO and my IT people, they couldn't live without the operation backroom that UBB provides to us. It's crucial, it's effective, it's excellent." Again and again, UBB customers testify to the willingness of the operations staff to do whatever it takes to keep critical backroom services running smoothly.
We think you'll agree when you meet the Operations professionals at UBB:
When many of our customers think of UBB, they think of Anne Hofstede. The irrepressibly positive head of the Operations department is one of UBB's longest serving employees, having joined UBB in 1977 when the bank was still known as Independent State Bank of Minnesota. Throughout nearly three decades of astonishing changes in technology, Anne has successfully guided UBB Operations without once losing sight of priority number one: customer satisfaction.
In announcing Anne's promotion to Senior Vice President, UBB CEO Bill Rosacker said, "Anne and her staff continually surpass our expectations when it comes to handling UBB's growing transaction volume, both on the number of items they process per day and the dollar volumes of those transactions. I am pleased that this promotion recognizes the contributions she has made to UBB for so long."
During the 1990's, Mia was instrumental in helping UBB customers install UNET, the precursor to the UNET.web online banking system. After leaving UBB for a six-year assignment with the Upper Midwest Automated Clearing House Association (UMACHA), Mia returned to UBB Operations in 2005 as a Customer Service Officer. Her specialties include ACH, bank fraud and prevention, and other complex transactional items. She is also an ACH Accredited Professional.
Jill's primary responsibility at UBB is overseeing the smooth operation and customer support for UNET.web, our premier online cash and information management system. Prior to coming to UBB in 1998, Jill did stints as a systems administrator at a credit union, trainer at a software company, and sales of personal computers. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in management and marketing and minors in economics, industrial relations and computer science from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Todd brings his previous experience as an operations officer at two community banks to the position of assistant manager of UNETexchange, UBB's highly successful check image transmission and settlement program.
Before coming to UBB in August 2009, he was the Senior Operations Officer, Security State Bank of Kenyon, Minn., and Vice President Operations, Merchants Bank, Rochester, Minn.
Todd's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, both from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Mary is the driving force behind the growth and management of UNETexchange, UBB's integrated check image transmission and settlement program, and other UBB Check21 products.
Prior to joining UBB in 2007, Mary was Vice President of Information Technology at Flagship Bank Minnesota in Eden Prairie, Project Manager for the Web Design Company, Vice President and Operations Officer for Community Bank Group, and an accounting teacher at Holy Trinity High School.
Her educational accomplishments include an associate's degree in accounting and business management from the St. Cloud Business College, St. Cloud, Minn.; auditing certification from Ridgewater Technical College, Hutchinson, Minn.; and certification as a tax preparer.
