We have an exempt employee that has used all of her PTO available for this year, but needs a day off this week. Can we dock her one day's pay?

There are a couple ways you could handle this.  Depending on your practice and policy, you could allow her to go negative with her PTO as long as you have communicated that if she should terminate her employment with a negative PTO balance,
